INJURY PREVENTION GRANTS <br />9 The Board authorized the Health Department to collaborate with the <br />10 Dispute Settlement Center and the Durham /Orange Coalition for Battered Women <br />11 in submitting an injury prevention grant application from each agency. <br />12 <br />13 D. LAND SALE TO THE ORANGE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />of <br />14 The Board adopted a resolution authorizing the transfer <br />15 property in the Knolls Community from Orange County to the Orange County <br />16 Housing Authority in accordance with the resolution stated below: <br />17 <br />18 RESOLUTION OF THE ORANGE COUNTY <br />19 BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZING <br />20 THE TRANSFER OF SURPLUS PROPERTY <br />21 TO THE ORANGE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY <br />22 <br />23 WHEREAS, Orange County acquired the following identified properties <br />24 by tax foreclosure (hereinafter "the parcels of property "): <br />25 Parcel I: Tax Parcel 7.100.C.10 <br />26 Parcel II: Tax Parcel 7.100.C.10A <br />27 Parcel III: Tax Parcel 7.91.H.7 <br />28 WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners has determined that the <br />29 parcels of property are surplus property; and <br />30 WHEREAS, Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and the Knolls <br />31 Neighborhood Development Association (which Association consists of property <br />32 owners in the community where the parcels of property are located) has <br />33 requested that steps be taken to make the parcels of property available for <br />34 low cost housing; and <br />35 WHEREAS, the Orange County Housing Authority has the authority to <br />36 provide dwelling accommodations for persons of low income and has the <br />37 authority to accept ownership of property to accomplish that purpose; and <br />38 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that the use <br />39 of the parcels of property to provide dwelling accommodations for persons of <br />40 low income is appropriate. <br />41 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED pursuant to North Carolina General <br />42 Statutes SS157 -42, 160A -267 and 160A -274: <br />43 <br />44 1. The following parcels of property are surplus property: <br />45 Parcel I: Tax Parcel 7.100.C.10 <br />46 Parcel II: Tax Parcel 7.100.C.10A <br />47 Parcel III: Tax Parcel 7.91.H.7 <br />48 2. The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners is authorized, on <br />49 behalf of Orange County, to convey by non - warranty deed in <br />50 consideration of the payment to orange County of $1.00, the <br />51 parcels of property to the Orange County Housing Authority. <br />52 3.
