Fikes <br />Action Plan Geof Gledhill <br />Resolution TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To adopt a resolution authorizing the transfer of property <br />in the Knolls Community from Orange County to the Orange <br />County Housing Authority. <br />BACKGROUND: On March 9, 1992, the Board of Commissioners received a <br />report from the Manager regarding a request from the Knolls <br />Neighborhood Development Association that the County donate <br />County owned surplus property in the Knolls Community to <br />Habitat for Humanity to build housing for eligible low <br />income citizens of the County. Based on this report and <br />subsequent Board discussions, the Manager is recommending <br />that the attached Action Plan be utilized to respond to <br />this request. <br />The first step in the plan is the adoption of a resolution <br />authorizing transfer of the properties to the Orange County <br />Housing Authority. Adoption of the attached resolution <br />will authorize the transfer of the three County owned lots <br />in the Knolls Community identified by Tax Map Reference <br />7.100.C.10, 7.100.C.10A, and 7.91.H.7 to the Orange County <br />Housing Authority for future conveyance to Habitat for <br />Humanity. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />The Manager recommends adopting a resolution authorizing the <br />transfer of property in the Knolls Community from Orange <br />County to the Orange County Housing Authority. <br />
