Attachment 2 <br />PROCLAMATION <br />COUNTY GOVERNMENT MONTH <br />WHEREAS, <br />The.North Carolina Association of County Commissioners <br />and the National Association of County Commissioners <br />have <br />urged citizens across the state and the nation to <br />learn more about county <br />government's role in our lives, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, <br />Orange County government has served the citizens of <br />the <br />County since 1752 and places its emphasis on <br />addressing citizens concerns <br />and needs, and <br />WHEREAS, <br />The elected and appointed officials of Orange County <br />take pride in <br />serving the citizens in the County and in <br />letting each citizen know he or <br />she counts, and <br />WHEREAS, <br />County government provides a wide range of services <br />including <br />public safety, community planning and human <br />services, which have a direct impact <br />on citizens, and <br />WHEREAS, <br />Citizens may learn about county services and resources <br />through outreach efforts by <br />provided County officials. <br />NOW THEREFORE, <br />We the Orange County Board of Commissioners do hereby <br />proclaim the month of April 1992 as Orange County <br />Government Month, and further <br />encourage all citizens <br />to become familiar with the services provided by <br />Orange County government. <br />This the twenty - fourth day of March, 1992 <br />By: <br />Moses Carey, Jr., Chair <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
