Fikes <br />Report <br />TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To receive a report regarding a request from the Knolls <br />Neighborhood Development Association. <br />BACKGROUND: In October 1991, the Knolls Neighborhood Development <br />Association (KNDA) asked the County to donate County owned <br />surplus property in the Knolls Community to Habitat for <br />Humanity to build housing for eligible low income citizens <br />of the County. Since that time, County staff has discussed <br />this request with the above referenced entities as well as <br />the County Attorney regarding the feasibility and procedure <br />for this donation. <br />The attached report provides a summary of activities to <br />date related to the KNDA request. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />The Manager recommends receiving this report as <br />information. A recommended action plan will be presented by <br />the Manager in a future BOCC meeting. <br />
