RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF HERB STOUT <br />WHEREAS, Herb Stout served as a dynamic member of the Wake <br />County Board of Commissioners from 1984 to his untimely death on <br />February 18, 1992; and <br />WHEREAS, Herb Stout was an innovative and exemplary Chairman <br />of the Triangle J Council of Governments, the Geographic <br />Information System Task Force, and the Model School Task Force for <br />the Council, and served as president or chairman of numerous <br />nonprofit and government organizations during his tenure as an <br />esteemed public servant; and <br />WHEREAS, Herb Stout was an energetic advocate for improved <br />schools, water quality protection, better health and human <br />services, increased low income housing, improved regional and <br />county telephone service, federal funding assistance to federally <br />mandated programs, and many other important issues; and <br />WHEREAS, Herb Stout inspired many others to become involved <br />in civic, educational and social service areas; and <br />WHEREAS, we, along with his family, friends, colleagues, and <br />constituents, shall deeply miss his spirited, creative, caring and <br />generous nature; <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissioners that the Board hereby honors the public service of <br />our colleague and friend <br />HERB STOUT <br />and urges all citizens to remember him for his commitment to public <br />service which contributed to the quality of life in Orange County <br />and the.other Triangle communities and truly made the Triangle a <br />better place because of his leadership. <br />This the 9th day of March, 1992. <br />.� fie Board <br />
