We understand that block grant monies may be available for later phases and may be applied for separately. Third, that the Board authorize and direct that the scope of the ultimate expansion be, at minimum, consistent with the expectancies of those persons who originally signed contracts with the County,. By way of one example, Mr. Thames made us aware that an area at the west end of our community (designated as Phase VI) may be more difficult to serve because it does not gravity flow directly toward the east and to Hillsborough. Nonetheless, this area was included within the original McAdams phasing and there are members of our constituency who reside in this area and who are signatories to the 1985 contracts. We respectfully request that the County include all such areas in its feasibility examination. The phasing (and hence the timetable) for extending service to these areas would certainly have to await the outcome of the County's study, but we are sure you can understand that we are reluctant to have any member of our constituency not included at this stage, particularly if such a member holds a contract. Fourth, that the Board authorize and direct County staff to meet and exchange information with our Steering Committee on a regular basis. Because we are a "grass roots" organization, we may be of assistance to the County in facilitating communications, performing review and comment functions or in other capacities. Fifth, that the Board accept our thanks for the hard work already done by the County's staff in bringing the expansion of the Bfland sewer facility closer to reality. We appreciate that, to complete a thorough feasibility, many more hours of staff time will necessarily be consumed, and for this we are grateful.
