Department of Economic and Community Development <br />(ECD) will announce in early March the availability of <br />Community Development Block Grant funds to local <br />governments. Applications are expected to be due in mid - <br />May. Further, ECD requires potential applicants to conduct <br />a public hearing to obtain citizen's comments regarding <br />potential community development target areas at the <br />beginning of application process. <br />Therefore, the Housing and Community Development staff is <br />requesting that March 9, 1992 be established as the public <br />hearing date to receive citizen comments prior to <br />developing an application. Notices will be published in the <br />appropriate news media to encourage community -wide <br />participation. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />The Manager recommends: <br />Establishing March 9, 1992 as the public hearing date to <br />receive citizen comments prior to development of a 1992 <br />Community Development Block Grant Application. <br />
