J. 7 <br />Cultural and Natural Resources <br />In the southwest corner of Eno TownshiR is a portion of the New <br />Hope Creek open Space Corridor which links the Eno River State <br />Park with the U.S. Corps of Engineers' land north of Jordan Lake. <br />Elements of the corridor in Eno Township are_ <br />Rhodes Creek Wildlife Corridor in the 100-year flood lain from <br />Old NC 10 under Interstate 85 and U.S. Highway 70 to the Eno <br />River State Park; <br />Bike /pedestrian trails along NC Highway 751 Old NC 10 Mt. <br />Hermon Church Road and Pleasant Green Road to Eno River State <br />_ Park; and <br />An un aved nature trail in the vicinity of I -85 and U.S. 70 <br />leading to the State Park. <br />PLANNING FRAMEWORK ANALYSIS <br />organizing Concepts <br />4) Existing Eno River State Park lands and land designated for <br />future development in the Eno River State Park Master Plan <br />should be protected from adverse development pressures. <br />5) Duke Forest tracts in southern Eno Township, which are a <br />valuable research, teaching, and recreational asset, should <br />be protected from the negative impacts of surrounding <br />development. <br />6 The Rortion of the New Ho Re Creek O en Space Corridor in <br />southern Eno Township should be rotected accordin to the <br />recommendations of the New Hope Corridor O en S ace Master <br />Plan (April 1991). <br />71 Existing water supply watersheds in the Township should be <br />developed in a manner that minimizes adverse impacts on <br />water quality and does not conflict with agricultural uses. <br />
