The attached <br />report highlights the accomplishments of the committee and <br />recommendations to the Board regarding re- franchising of Cable <br />companies in the County. <br />The Cable committee has not discussed the proposed acquisition <br />of Carolina Cable by American Television and Communications <br />Corporation (ATC), which is the parent corporation of <br />Cablevision of Durham. The committee plans to meet with <br />representatives of ATC within the next few weeks. <br />Robert Gwyn, Chairman of the Cable TV Citizen Advisory <br />Committee, will present the report. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): Manager recommends that the Board receive the report as <br />information. <br />
