3. DOMMIORincr a proposal for a system for identifying
human services priorities that takes account of
county-wide needs and resources and that em hasizes
revention evaluation and coordination.
The Task Force is developing a future planning
process to achieve this goal and will present the process
in the final report.
We are working on a plan that will offer
opportunities for increased communication among advisory
boards and funders and will encourage coordinated planning
efforts among the existing structures in the county. We
will also plan to educate the human services community
about the objectives of this process.
No matter what form the final procedure takes, we
know that the stages of the process will require broad -
based community participation from the private and public
sectors, including service recipients, providers, funders,
decision- makers, and elected officials. The success of
the process will depend on the commitment of the
participants and on their ability to see "the big picture"
of human services provision in the County.
4. Facilitating communication coordination and Joint
action in responding to human service priorities.
Human service providers in Orange County have
repeatedly demonstrated that they are willing to work
together to address any issue in need of attention. This
spirit of cooperation is certainly a valuable asset to the
citizens of Orange County.
The future planning process will build upon this
tradition of shared responsibility in addressing issues of
vital importance.
Page 3
S
