PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO:XX <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br />EXT 2650 <br />MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING Telephone Number - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 967 -9251 <br />Mebane -227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To approve a memorandum of understanding between Orange <br />County and the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles. <br />BACKGROUND: Since 1986 the County has provided space for a satellite <br />office of the Driver's License Bureau at the Carrboro Plaza (Plantation <br />Plaza). In February, 1991 the Board approved a lease renewal through <br />December 15, 1994. <br />The State has once again requested that the Board approve the attached <br />memorandum of understanding which reflects the terms of the agreement <br />between the County and the State as it applies to the leased premises. <br />With the exception of the dates, the content is identical to that which <br />was approved by the Board in November, 1989. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends approval of the memorandum of <br />understanding; and authorization for the Chair to sign on behalf of the <br />Board. <br />• <br />
