The Board of Commissioners <br />referred the item back to the Planning Staff for <br />review and a recommendation for further action. <br />Summary of Case History <br />The Tanglewood Acres Subdivision was approved by the <br />Board of Commissioners on June 26, 1990. One of the <br />roads in the subdivision was required to be improved <br />to NCDOT standards for unpaved roads. The road was <br />improved only to Class B private road standards. The <br />applicant is seeking relief from further improving the <br />road to the standards required in the Resolution of <br />Approval. <br />The justification presented by the applicant for <br />relaxing the requirement has focused on statements to <br />the surveyor by NCDOT that no construction standards <br />for unpaved roads existed. The Planning Staff <br />believes that a logical response would have been to <br />return to the approving agency to ask what standards <br />should be applied. However, the staff was not made <br />
