7 <br />SAMPLE PROJECTS <br />The following are examples of projects which were funded in 1991: <br />• Phase I of a multiphased architectural survey which will identify and <br />evaluate approximately 350 historic properties in the township facing <br />the most intense development pressure in the county ($5,000 grant) <br />• Preparation of a National Register Historic District nomination to <br />include approximately 75 Contiguous properties in commercial and <br />residential neighborhoods of a turn -of -the century community located <br />between two urban centers ($1,500 grant) <br />Intense county architectural survey of approximately 500 properties, <br />including several small towns and portions of the county seat <br />($10,000 grant) <br />Continuation of a long -range research program in the Great <br />Bend region of the Yadkin River, designed to enhance current <br />knowledge about several native - American cultures ($7,500 <br />grant) <br />APPLICATION PROCESS <br />- Apply by January 31, 1992 on the attached Grant Application Form. <br />Send completed application to: Lloyd Childers, grants administrator, <br />State Historic Preservation Office, N.C.
