rwille Fesco® Board <br />Roof Insulation <br />Description <br />Fesco Board is a homogeneous board, the principal component <br />of which is expanded perlite, a volcanic ore. The perlite ore, <br />when exposed to intense heat, expands approximately fifteen <br />times its original size. The resulting glass -like beads contain air <br />cells which provide high insulating efficiency. The beads are <br />then blended with selected binders and fibers to form the roof <br />insulation board. <br />Advantages <br />Fire Resistance. Fesco Board has excellent fire resistance <br />and has passed the FM and UL tests detailed below. Can be <br />used as a fire barrier on metal roof decks. <br />Mopping Surface. Provides an excellent base to receive a <br />built -up or modified bitumen membrane. Excellent compatibility <br />with hot asphalt. <br />Strength and Durability. When applied over rigid permanent <br />decks, Fesco Board resists damage from on -the -job and <br />maintenance traffic, offers good moisture resistance, and <br />effectively bridges flute openings in metal decks. <br />Dimensional Stability. Based on its perlite composition, Fesco <br />Board is dimensionally stable over a wide range of weather <br />conditions. <br />Good Adhesion. The top surface of Fesco Board is sealed with <br />Top -Loc® coating to control the penetration of mopping bitumens, <br />helping to assure proper adhesion of the roofing membrane. <br />10 <br />For Built -Up, Modified Bitumen and <br />Single -Ply Roofing Systems <br />Application <br />Fesco Board insulation is used over nailable, non - nailable, or <br />metal roof decks in built -up, modified bitumen and some single - <br />ply roofing systems. It may be applied using hot bitumen and /or <br />mechanical fasteners. <br />Sizes <br />Fesco Board is available in 24" x 48" (.61m x 1.22m) and <br />48"x 48" (1.22m x 1.22m). <br />Standard thicknesses are IY4", 114, 11/2", 2" and 3 ".
