6i <br />PROPOSED ORANGE COUNTY SOLID WASTE COMMITTEE <br />AGENDA <br />The Grange County Solid Waste Comin.itt:ee will meet once a <br />month for a twelve month period. Regular meetings will begin <br />in March of 1992 and will run through March of 1993 after <br />which the Committee will present recommendations to the Board <br />of County Commissioners. Meeting times and da-1 -,es will be <br />determined by the Committee at the first meeting. <br />Two weeks prior too the first. meeting, Staff will supply each <br />member with a notebook of all related information and <br />articles. Members will be expected to read all information <br />before the first meeting in order to be informed and further <br />expedite the process. <br />The following is a tentative agenda for the twelve meetings. <br />Meetings will be divided into two phases. The first phase <br />will involve research and study. The second phase will <br />involve developing goals and objectives and identifying <br />strategies. After the first meeting, the Committee will be <br />divided into the following groups: <br />1. State Mandates and Means for Compliance - Identification <br />and study of state mandates and means for compliance with <br />those mandates. <br />2. Level of Service - Review current level of collection <br />service in the County and resear.eh /discuss, ways to <br />improve service. <br />3. Financing - Review current method of financing solid <br />waste collection in the County and research /discuss ways <br />to make it affordable and equitable. <br />4, Public Education - Identification of means for educating <br />citizens and garnering their support, involvement and <br />commitment. <br />Plans are to have a set of recommendations to the Board of <br />County Commissioners in the spring of 1993. <br />
