7 <br />or the Personnel. Director's designee. <br />4.8 Investigative Sus ension <br />Old 4.8.1 when a department head receives information <br />4.5.2 which he or she reasonably believes is basis <br />revised for disciplinary action and when immediate <br />action is needed to protect the safety of <br />persons or property, to avoid undue <br />disruption of work or for other reasonable <br />cause, the department head may place the <br />employee in the status of investigative <br />suspension, direct the employee to leave the <br />County premises and to: <br />- Report at a designated time or place, or <br />_- Remain away until further notice. <br />to 4.8.2 As soon as feasible after the Item 4.8.1 <br />action, the department head notifies the <br />Personnel Director. <br />" 4.8.3 The department head in consultation with the <br />Personnel Director conducts an investigation <br />of the matter leading to the investigative <br />suspension as soon as possible and reaches a <br />decision as to any disciplinary action with <br />reasonable dispatch. <br />New 4.8.4 The employee continues to receive pay and <br />benefits while not at work due to an <br />investigative suspension. <br />Old 4.8.5 Investigative suspension is not used for the <br />4.5.3 purpose of delaying an administrative <br />revised decision on an employee's work status <br />pending the resolution of a civil or <br />criminal matter involving the employee. <br />
