A <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br />ORDINANCE: SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS <br />REFERENCE: SECTION <br />SECTION <br />SECTION <br />APPEAR <br />ORIGIN OF AMENDMENT: <br />V -D - FINAL PLAT <br />II - DEFINITIONS (SUBDIVISION) <br />V-D -6 - CERTIFICATES AND ENDORSEMENTS TO <br />JN'FINAL PLAT <br />Staff Planning Board <br />BOCC Public x Other: <br />STAFF PRIORITY RECOMMENDATION: x_High Middle Low <br />Comment: <br />EXPECTED PUBLIC HEARING DATE: November 25, 1991 <br />PURPOSE OF AMENDMENT: <br />To incorporate changes in Final Plat mapping and recordation <br />provisions, as required by a recently ratified amendment to G.S. <br />47 -30 (Plats and Subdivisions; Mapping Requirements). <br />IMPACTS /ISSUES: <br />An amendment to G.S. 47 -30 (Plats and Subdivisions; Mapping <br />Requirements) was ratified by the General Assembly on June 12, <br />1991. The changes will go into effect on October 1, 1991.. <br />The statute pertains largely to the recording of plats in the <br />Office of the Register of Deeds. There are also some provisions <br />within the Subdivision Regulations which relate to this <br />legislation. The proposed amendment provides consistency with G.S. <br />47 -30 as amended. <br />A copy of G.S. 47 -30 is attached. The revisions address the size <br />of plats, the materials on which plats "may be drawn, survey <br />information, certifications and attachment,9.,.to deeds or other <br />instruments. <br />Three sections of the Subdivision Regulations need to be revised to <br />address these changes. <br />Section V -D - Final Plat <br />Section V -D Final Plat specifies plat sizes, drawing medium, <br />plat material,, scale and margins. The current standards <br />reflect the earlier version of G.S. 47 -30. It is recommended <br />that most of this Section be deleted altogether. There is a <br />
