The changes went into effect on October <br />1, 1991. <br />The statute pertains largely to the recording of plats in <br />the Office of the Register of Deeds. There are also some <br />provisions within the Subdivision Regulations which relate <br />to this legislation. The proposed amendment provides <br />consistency with G.S. 47- 30'as,.amended. <br />The revisions address the size. of plats, the materials on <br />which plats may be drawn, survey information, <br />certifications and attachments to deeds or other <br />instruments. <br />The Northwestern Triangle Chapter of the North Carolina <br />Society of Surveyors submitted a letter (attached) into <br />the public record, and generally spoke in favor of the <br />proposed amendment. There were two concerns expressed. <br />First, it was suggested that additional clarifying <br />language be included to the revised definition of <br />
