Each CPS worker funded by these special funds must
receive at least one hour of supervision in each week.
b. The county will institute procedures to ensure that no
one person is solely responsible for deciding whether a
child is abused, neglected or dependent (i.e., a team
approach to decision - making will be used, the team to
consist at least of the worker and a supervisor).
C. The county will assure that all staff funded with this
allocation participate in .training and staff development
provided directly or arranged by the State Division of
Social Services.
2. When reimbursement is claimed from this source for social
worker time, the worker should have a limited caseload.
A full -time worker doing investigations, only, should
carry no more than 18 CPS reports under investigation at
any given time. A full -time worker providing protective
and preventive services, only, should carry no more than
twenty families at any one time. If a full -time worker
carries investigations as well as protective or
preventive services in confirmed cases of abuse, neglect
or dependency, that worker should carry no more than 16
cases at any given time. If reimbursement is claimed
from this source for less than 100% of a social worker's
time, that worker should carry no more than 16 cases of
all types -- TOTAL. This means the protective services
caseload plus whatever other cases the worker is assigned
should not exceed 16.
b.
