The proposal is by no means a Cadillac solution. <br />In closing, I wish to emphasize that I appreciate and <br />respect the views of those who have voiced legitimate concern <br />about property taxes in Orange County. However, I believe that <br />the reasonable and modest tax increases required by a bond of the <br />size proposed is a much needed investment in our county's future <br />and is mandatory if we are to continue the momentum for <br />progressive education which the county has achieved in recent <br />years. <br />
