44 <br />of Commissioners and the Planning Board. <br />This is done at the quarterly public hearing. <br />There is no time limit within which a <br />proposed amendment must be heard. <br />Zoning Officer Recommendation <br />MeL proposed amendment was initiated and <br />developed by the Pj_a_Dn jDg_ Staff. The Zoning <br />Officer recommends approval of the proposed <br />amendment. <br />No decision on the proposal is made by either <br />the Planning Board or Board of Commissioners <br />at the public hearing. Instead, the Planning <br />Board must prepare and submit a <br />recommendation to the Board of Commissioners. <br />If the amendment is initiated by Orange <br />County, there is no deadline within which the <br />recommendation must be received. If the <br />amendment is initiated by a citizen, the <br />Planning Board must prepare and submit a <br />recommendation to the Board of Commissioners <br />within 60 days of the public hearing date. <br />It is general practice to present the <br />proposal to the Planning Board at its first <br />regular meeting after the public hearing and <br />present the Planning Board recommendation to <br />the Board of Commissioners at its first <br />meeting thereafter. <br />Administration_ Recommendation <br />The Administration recommends that the <br />proposal be referred to the Planning Board <br />for a recommendation to be returned to the <br />Board of commissioners no sooner than January <br />6, 1992. <br />
