Individuals in OJT are treated as JOBS participants during the <br />course of the OJT contract although wages to the OJT participants <br />may result in loss of AFDC benefits. The individual remains <br />classified an a JOBS participant for the duration of OJT. <br />a. The participant remains eligible for case management and <br />supportive services for the duration of the contract. <br />b. The participant remains eligible to receive child care to <br />support OJT participation and will not be charged a fee while <br />continuing to participate by the terms of the OJT contract. <br />(The participant will still be eligible for Transitional Child <br />Care (TCC) at the end of the OJT period. However, the 12 -month <br />TCC period will be reduced by the number of months that the <br />individual received child care to support OJT after <br />termination of-AFDC eligibility.) <br />C. An individual in OJT is considered a JOBS participant for the <br />duration of the contract (assuming satisfactory participation, <br />etc.). The individual is reported as 'employed" when the OJT <br />training is completed and the job becomes unsubsidized. <br />7. JOBS social work staff are responsible for the following OJT <br />functions and activities: <br />A. Explaining OJT to participants; <br />b. Identifying and referring potential OJT candidates to resource <br />agencies or employers; <br />C. Arranging any necessary supportive service for OJT referrals <br />and placements; <br />d. Assisting the employer and /or the DsS, agent in the development <br />Of agreements and a training outline for the occupation. The <br />outline mast include a list of tasks and functions in which <br />the participant will be trained; <br />e. Notifying IMU when the AFDC participant enters an OJT <br />position, terminates OJT, secures unsubsidized employment or <br />is no longer employed; <br />f. Contacting the participant as needed to support the <br />individual's participation in OJT. (The nature and timing of <br />the contacts will depend on the Employability Plan, <br />contractor, and employer.) <br />8• Depending on the county's structure for operation of OJT, the JOBS <br />social worker may also be responsible for the following: <br />XIV -3 <br />
