The committee was asked to report back to the County <br />Commissioners in December 1991 on its recommendations about school <br />capital priorities and the timing, sizing, and elements of possible <br />future bond issue(s). <br />The committee is scheduled _to complete its work within the next <br />several weeks, and plans to present its report to the Board at the <br />December 2 meeting. The Board has indicated its interest in getting <br />input from the public on school capital priorities following submission <br />of the committee's report, but prior to the Board approving a potential <br />bond order. The bond order would need to be approved by the January <br />21, 1992 meeting if the Board desires to hold a referendum in <br />conjunction with the scheduled primary elections on May 5, 1992. A <br />December 11 public hearing could provide the Board of Commissioners <br />with appropriate public comment and sufficient time to deliberate <br />before a possible January 21 bond decision. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board set a public <br />hearing on the matter of school capital needs priorities and funding <br />for December 11, 1991, at 7 :30pm, in Superior Courtroom, 106 E. <br />Margaret Lane, Hillsborough. <br />
