Specifically, these <br />watersheds are the Flat River (Lake Michie) <br />and Little River watersheds shared by Durham <br />County, Person County and Orange County. <br />The attached chart compares the requested <br />classifications of the three jurisdictions for <br />these watersheds. As can be seen, Durham <br />County and Orange County have agreed with the <br />Division of Environmental Management's <br />recommended classification of WS -II for both <br />watersheds. Person County, meanwhile, has <br />requested a classification of WS -IV for the <br />Flat River watershed, with no comment on the <br />Little River watershed (Person has less than <br />1% of the Little River watershed in its <br />jurisdiction). <br />The chart compares the standards for WS -II and <br />WS -IV classifications, and illustrates the <br />effect WS -II standards would have on Northern. <br />Orange County. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Receive as information. <br />
