PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO:XX <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br />EXT 2650 <br />BID TABULATION <br />CONTRACT FORM <br />Telephone Number - <br />Hillsborough -732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 967 --9251 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To award a bid and approve a contract with Custom Stone <br />Masonry, Inc. for construction of Phase III of the Courthouse Square <br />Project. <br />BACKGROUND: In 1990, the County awarded bids and constructed Phases I <br />and II of the Courthouse Square Project. AS you may recall, Phases I <br />and II included construction of perimeter sidewalks along Churton and <br />King Streets, interior sidewalks on the north side of the building, as <br />well as corrected site drainage problems. <br />Phase III will complete all perimeter and interior sidewalks on the <br />grounds. The funds are available within the 1991 -92 Capital <br />Improvements Program (CIP). <br />It is anticipated that the last phase of the project, which includes <br />completion of the landscaping, will be completed in the Spring, 1992. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends award of bid and approval of a <br />contract with Custom Stone Masonry, Inc, to construct Phase III of the <br />Courthouse Square Project, for a sum of $44,000; and authorize the <br />Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
