Box 25201 <br />Raleigh, NC 27611 -5201 <br />SUBJECT: DURHAM NORTHWEST /NORTHEAST LOOP CORRIDOR STUDY <br />Dear Mr. Ward: <br />732 -8181 <br />968.4501 <br />688 -7331 <br />227 -2031 <br />644- 3004(Fax) <br />The Orange County Planning Board met on October 8, 1991 to <br />consider a recommendation... on the Durham Northwest Loop and <br />Northeast Loop Corridor. Study. In their deliberations, the <br />Planning Board expressed. concern about potential adverse impacts <br />on the Eno River State Park, extensive areas of steep slope, and <br />existing residential development in the corridor study area. They <br />recommended to the Board of Commissioners that the terminus of the <br />proposed Northwest Loop be located in Durham County where it would <br />be better aligned with US 15 -501 and the East /West Expressway. <br />The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular <br />session on October 22 to consider. the study and to receive the <br />Planning Board recommendation.
