Box 366
Carrboro, NC 27510
(9 9) 968 -4421
COMMENTS ON PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY /CHAPEL
HILL / CARRBORO JOINT PLANNING AREA LAND USE PLAN AND MAP
0
PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT AND MAP OF THE
COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR ORANGE, COUNTY,-NORTH CAROLINA
PUBLIC HEARING
CARRBORO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
CARRBORO, NORTH CAROLINA
OCTOBER 10, 1991
7:30 P. -M.
Presented by James T. Mergner, Vice—Chairman
Orange Water and Sewer Authority
Good evening. My name is Jim Mergner. I'm the Vice--Chairman of
the OrangeWater and Sewer Authority Board of Directors, and am
speaking tonight on their behalf. Lois Herring, our regular
chairperson, is unable to be here, but extends her best wishes
and regards to all of you.
My comment's will be brief and, hopefully, to the-point.
Part of OW'ASA's essential mission is "to provide our customers
with an adequate supply of high quality drinking water." To
achieve this, as you know, requires the protection, storage,
treatment ''and delivery of a top quality product. Providing the
necessary 'capital facilities in an orderly, efficient, and
economical' manner requires long range vision and strategic
planning.
Another element of our mission is "to be guided by the land
management! plans approved by [you] the governmental units in the
area [that; we] the Authority serves,"
So, OWASA is a co— applicant to these proceedings in order to
advance our mission of providing high quality drinking water, and
An Equal Opportunity Employer
