U58 Cultural and Natural Resources In the southwest corner of Eno Township is a portion of the New Hope Creek Open Space Corridor which links the Eno River State Park _with _the U._S_. Corps of Engineers I -land north of Jordan Lake. Elements of the corridor in Eno Township are: Rhodes,Creek Wildlife C= dor in the 100-year floodplain from under Interstate 85 and U.S. Highway 70 to-the Eno River State Park; _. Bike /pedestrian trails along NC Highway 751, Old NC 10, Mt.,, Hermon Church Road, and Pleasant Green Road to-Eno River State Park; and An unpaved nature trail in the vicinity of I -85 and U.S. 70 leading to the State Park. L4 ftl ,4p- organizing Concepts 4) Existing Eno River State Park lands and land designated for future development in the Eno River State Park Master Plan should be protected from adverse development pressures. 5) Duke Forest tracts in southern Eno Township, which are a valuable research, teaching, and recreational asset., should be protected from the negative impacts of surrounding development. -61 The -D9Xtion-_gL the New Hope Creek Open Space Corridor in southern Eno Township should _beprotected accordincx to the recommendations of the-New_ Hope Corridor Open Space Master Plan (April 1991). 7) Existing water supply watersheds in the Township should be developed in a manner that minimizes adverse impacts on water quality and does not conflict with agricultural uses.
