M <br />CP -3- 1 requests the establishment of a rural <br />industrial activity node covering the subject <br />properties. A rural industrial activity node is land <br />focused on designated road intersections in the rural <br />areas that is appropriate for small scale industrial <br />uses which do not require urban -type services. Such <br />an amendment requires only the approval of the Orange <br />County Commissioners. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Orange County, Chapel Hill, and Carrboro Planning <br />staffs recommend approval of the proposed amendments <br />as contained in the attached analysis. <br />Following conclusion of the Public Hearing, the matter <br />should be referred to the towns of Chapel Hill and <br />Carrboro for decision and then to the orange County <br />Planning Board for a recommendation to the County <br />Commissioners.
