t <br />'e0o", . <br />1 <br />5 <br />{ <br />�a <br />C <br />x <br />W <br />S <br />J <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />ORANGE COUNTY <br />EMERGENCY MEDICAL PROTECTION CONTRACT <br />Y <br />4 <br />..This agreement is made and, entered into this 1st day of July, <br />1985, by and between Orange' County, Chatham County and South <br />Orange Rescue, I ne. <br />WHEREAS, the Counties have established a District within <br />North Chatham County consisting of an area wherein residents now <br />being served by the Southern Bell Telephone Exchange are provided <br />Emergency Medical Services by Orange County Emergency Medical <br />Services and South. Orange Rescue Squad. <br />MEREAS, pursuant to Article. 201 Chapter 160A of the N.C. <br />General Statutes, Orange and Chatham Counties are empowered to <br />enter into this agreement; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Counties and South Orange Rescue <br />Squad,- Inc. hereby agree as follows: <br />1. ' Orange County and South Orange Rescue shall, to the best <br />of .their ability, furnish equipment, supplies, and personnel deemed <br />necessary by them for the purpose of providing emergency medical <br />services <br />protection to <br />persons <br />needing <br />assistance within the <br />District <br />as the <br />boundaries <br />of such <br />District <br />are now constituted <br />or May . <br />hereafter be amended. <br />2. I n provi di ng -the emergency medical services protection <br />described in paragraph l of this agreement, Orange County shall <br />retain its governmental immunity to the extent provided by law as if <br />
