Inventory Consultant Selection <br />(1) Overview of Chapel Hill Township <br />Cameron explained the Orange County - Chapel Hill - Carrboro Joint <br />Planning Area Land Use Plan map to the Commission. She pointed <br />out the entire Chapel Hill Township which is the study area. She <br />identified land use and development patterns, and described land <br />use categories and zoning districts applicable in the township. <br />She pointed out the Town's jurisdictional areas and the growth or <br />"transition" areas. She stated that the only non - residential <br />uses in the County's jurisdiction are located at the intersection <br />of NC 86 and Mt. Sinai Road. <br />Sheridan asked if Calvander was included in the area. Cameron <br />stated that Calvander is in Carrboro's jurisdiction. <br />Anderson asked if there was a landmark of some kind on the <br />northern boundary that would be recognized. Cameron stated that <br />there was a Duke Power Transmission line right -of -way at the very <br />edge of the township near Old NC 86 (Chapel Hill - Hillsborough <br />Road). <br />Cameron then discussed University Lake Watershed where special <br />water quality protection is observed. She stated that New Hope <br />Creek Watershed is not designated as a protected watershed so <br />there are no restrictions there. She also pointed out other <br />protected watersheds, the Upper Eno and Seven Mile Creek. She <br />stated that the township will be looked at more closely as the <br />inventory is done. <br />(2) Consultant comparison <br />Collins distributed the consultant proposals. The following <br />consultants had submitted proposals: <br />Kelly Lally & Ruth Little (Joint Venture) <br />Dan Pezzoni <br />Barry Jacobs & Ruth Little (Joint Venture) <br />Mary L. Reeb <br />The Commission then took time to look over the proposals. <br />Pat Dickinson stated that she would be willing to make a <br />recommendation. She stated that the list of consultants was <br />really impressive. She referred to Ruth Little, who, in her <br />opinion, is the dean of survey work in the State, and Kelly <br />Lally, who has recently finished the Wake County Survey, as the <br />"dream team ". <br />
