Orange County will work cooperatively with Hillsborough and <br />Mebane by assuming responsibility for inventories in the unincorporated <br />areas. Utilization of the same consultant for both municipal and county <br />inventories will also be .sought. <br />The third phase will consist of two parts, including the <br />publication of a county —wide inventory and the preparation of an <br />Historic Preservation Element as part of the Comprehensive Plan. Orange <br />County will seek the support of municipalities and private interests in <br />publishing the inventory. The Planning Department will prepare the <br />Historic Preservation Element. <br />The final phase will consist of preparing nominations for the <br />National Register of Historic Places. All phases will be subject tc- <br />local funding approval as well as the availability of Planning and <br />Survey Funds. <br />
