PUBLIC HEARING YES: NO :XX <br />ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: PAM JONES <br />EXT 2650 <br />CHANGE ORDER DETAIL Telephone Number - <br />Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill -967 -9251 <br />Mebane -227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />PURPOSE: To approve change orders for the 911 Expansion Project. <br />BACKGROUND: The 911 Expansion Project was begun in April, 1991 and is <br />nearing completion of Phase I. Phase I is the construction of the new <br />addition to the building. The new addition consists of new <br />conference /training room on the top floor and a new communications <br />center in the basement. <br />Phase II, which includes the renovation of the existing building to <br />accommodate office areas on the top floor and an Emergency Operations <br />Center (EOC) in the basement, is scheduled to begin following <br />completion of Phase I and will be completed within 75 calendar days. <br />Delay in console equipment delivery and subsequent training will extend <br />the November 11, 1991 contract completion date by approximately 45 -60 <br />days. Exact contract date of completion will be determined following <br />equipment delivery and installation. <br />The expansion project has.gone smoothly, however as with any <br />building /renovation project, unanticipated events occur which require <br />revisions in the plan and hence change orders. The Architect has <br />submitted a request for $6,318 in change orders as detailed on <br />the attached information sheet. <br />Funds are available to support these change orders. <br />RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends approval of change orders as <br />presented and authorization for the Purchasing Director to execute the <br />necessary paperwork. <br />
