8 <br />3912 <br />REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: <br />Extensive knowledge of the visitor services, <br />hospitality, tourism industry including <br />convention /conference marketing and management. <br />Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations underlying <br />the visitor services industry. <br />General knowledge of organization and management <br />principles and practices. <br />Preferably knowledge of the Chapel Hill /Orange County <br />area. <br />Effective oral and written communication skills <br />including ability to make effective oral and written <br />presentations. <br />Ability to analyze and evaluate a variety of programs <br />and develop plans, structures and systems responsive to <br />the needs. <br />Ability to coordinate the work of others. <br />Ability to establish and maintain effective working <br />relationships with a wide range of public and private <br />organizations and the general public. <br />MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <br />Requires graduation from a four year college or <br />university with a major emphasis on coursework in <br />business administration, public administration, <br />hotel /motel management, sales, marketing or related <br />field and four years professional level experience in <br />hospitality, tourism or visitor services program <br />management, including responsibility for program <br />development, marketing and budgeting. <br />i <br />
