9 <br />VIII. ITEMS FOR DECISION -- REGULAR AGENDA <br />A. BID AWARD FOR THE EFLAND- CHEEKS COMMUNITY CENTER AND PARK <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by <br />Commissioner Insko to approve and authorize the Chair to award the bid <br />to O'Neal Construction, Inc., Chapel Hill, NC for $219,724 which <br />includes Alternate #2 and Alternate #4. The list of bids received is <br />an attachment to these minutes on page <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />B. ORANGE COUNTY EFLAND- CHEEKS COMMUNITY CENTER AND PARK <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Halkiotis, seconded by Chair <br />Carey to approve and authorize the Chair to sign a lease agreement with <br />the Orange County Board of Education for the Efland- Cheeks Community <br />Center and Neighborhood Park contingent upon Manager and County Attorney <br />final review. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />C. LEASE APPROVAL - HILLSBOROUGH BUSINESS CENTER <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon to approve and authorize the Chair to sign a lease <br />with the Eno River Development Company for space at the Hillsborough <br />Business Center to be used by Durham Technical College as classroom and <br />office space. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />D. <br />EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY AFFIRMATIVE ACTION POLICY <br />REVISIONS TO THE ORANGE COUNTY PERSONNEL ORDINANCE <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Gordon, seconded by <br />Commissioner Halkiotis to approve the revisions to the Equal Employment <br />Opportunity /Affirmative Action section of the Orange County Personnel <br />Ordinance as presented. These changes will be included in the Personnel <br />Ordinance located in the Clerk's Office. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />ADDED ITEM <br />E. 911 CONSOLES.,! REJECTION OF BIDS <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Willhoit, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon to reject any and all bids received on August 16, <br />1991 for the purchase of a Communications Control Center consisting of <br />five (5) consoles for Enhanced 911. <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />IX. BOARD COMMENTS - NONE <br />X. COUNTY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />John Link introduced the new intern for the coming year Ms. <br />Margaret Henderson. She will be working on a strategic plan for human <br />services, 24 -hour courthouse, master client index file, etc. <br />
