Telephone Number-- <br /> Hillsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill -967-9251 <br /> Mebane -227-2031 <br /> Durham -688--7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider approving a contract with RTD Associates, PA <br /> for engineering services associated with roof replacement at Northern <br /> Human Services Center, Cedar Grove, NC. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Northern Human Services Building has a roof area of <br /> approximately 31 , 000 square feet . The existing roof is a <br /> combination of built up roofing and a foam application installed in <br /> 1984. The roof has blistered and is deteriorated beyond repair. The <br /> funds for this project are included in the CIP. <br /> The two firms submitting proposals for the work and their respective <br /> cost quotes are as follows: <br /> RTD Associates $ 7,440.00 <br /> Michael Hining Architects $12, 000 .00 <br /> The scope of the contract includes all work from determining the most <br /> suitable roof system for this facility through design and construction <br /> of the system specified. A more specific breakdown of tasks and <br /> timetable is listed in the attached proposal . <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends approval of a contract with RTD <br /> Associates, PA for a cost of $7,440; and authorization for the Chair to <br /> sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
