'i '' <br />RESOLUTION COMMENTING ON PROPOSED CLASSIFICATIONS FOR PROTECTING <br />ATER SUPPLY WATERSHEDS (91- 7- $/R -14) <br />WHEREAS, the council of the Town of Chapel Hill requested on July 9, <br />)990 by Resolution 90- 7 -9/R -6 that the Environmental Management <br />Commission consider special standards for specific watersheds; and <br />AMEREAS, the water supply rules adopted by the Environmental <br />Management Commission on December 13, 1990 include a provision at 15 <br />IVCAC 28 .0104 (k) which allows the Commission to designate critical <br />U)ater supply watersheds; <br />W, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Chapel. <br />11 that the Council requests the Environmental Management <br />Commission to: <br />WaF Designate University Lake watershed as a critical. water supply <br />tershed, with recommendations regarding standards to be developed <br />after discussions among the local governments involved; and <br />P After completion of appropriate technical studies by the Orange <br />ter and Sewer Authority (now tentatively scheduled for Fig 1992 - <br />q3), that the Commission consider designating Cane creek watershed <br />As a critical water supply watershed if supported by the conclusions <br />of the study. <br />-11his the 6th day of July, 1991, <br />D ? <br />
