BACK CREEK WATERSIBED <br />I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION <br />a) Location and Character <br />The Back Creek Watershed is within the Cape Fear River Basin, and is located in the <br />western portion of Cedar Grove and Cheeks Townships. The area is predominantly <br />rural, characterized by low- density residential development and farmland. <br />b) Reservoir Sites <br />The Back Creek Reservoir, located between Haw River and Mebane in Alamance <br />County, was completed in 1988. This reservoir provides water to the cities of Graham <br />and Mebane. <br />c) Affected Jurisdictions <br />The watershed is bisected by the Orange/Alamance County line. Portions of the <br />watershed are also located within the jurisdictions of Mebane and Haw River. <br />KP <br />
