k. <br />0 <br />HAW CREEK WATERSHED <br />I. GENERAL DESCRI MON <br />a) Location and Character <br />The Haw Creek Watershed is within the Cape Fear River Basin. The bulk of the Haw <br />Creek Watershed is located on the south side of I -85, and is bisected by the <br />Orange/Alamance County line. The northern portion of the watershed is along the I -85 <br />corridor. The southern portion is characterized by low- density residential use. <br />b) Reservoir /Intake Sites <br />There is currently no water supply in this watershed. A futures reservoir site in <br />Alamance County has been proposed by Orange- Alamance Water Systems. <br />c) Affected Jurisdictions <br />The watershed area is generally split evenly between Orange County and Alamance <br />County. A portion of the watershed in both counties is also within the jurisdiction of the <br />City of Mebane. <br />40 <br />
