SUBDIVISION REGULA'T'IONS TEXT AMENDMENTS <br />(I) Section III -0 -2 -f <br />(Administrative Re- approval) <br />Presentation by Mary Scearbo. <br />The proposed amendment would allow staff re- <br />approval of expired Preliminary Plats. <br />Under current procedures, the Board of <br />Commissioners may approve a revised phasing <br />plan for an expired Preliminary Plat. if a <br />revision is not approved, the expired portion <br />of the Preliminary Plan must be re- submitted <br />as if it were a new project. <br />In many cases, the re- submitted Preliminary <br />Plan is identical to the original Plat. -- <br />there have been no major changes in <br />subdivision, zoning or other regulations <br />which affect the proposal, then. the <br />Preliminary Plat is generally re- approved <br />with little or no change. Major design <br />considerations and other issues were <br />addressed and resolved prior to the original <br />approval. In many cases, the approval <br />process for the "new" subdivision is oriented <br />largely toward process, rather than <br />substance. <br />A copy of the amendment is an attachment to <br />these minutes on pages <br />The proposed amendment would allow staff to <br />re- approve expired Preliminary Plats which <br />meet certain criteria. <br />The proposed amendment was presented for <br />public hearing on May 28, <br />1991 0ne ci:.izen <br />spoke in favor of the proposal. Concerns <br />raised by the Board of Commissioners included <br />fees, and the definition of "minor changes". <br />The concept of allowing staff re- approval if <br />there were any changes to the original <br />approval was questioned. <br />A fee to cover County costs in processing the <br />re- approvals would have to be approved by -he <br />Board of Commissioners after a public <br />hearing. The proposed fee could be presented <br />at the August public hearing. it is <br />
