The <br />Personnel Department calculates such a <br />prorated leave earning rate and provides it <br />to the operating department involved. <br />5.3.4 Vacation Leave is earned in any month <br />(OLD 5.1 during which the employee works or is on <br />REVISED) paid leave one -half or more of the work <br />days in the month. <br />5.4 Accumulating Vacation Leave <br />Earned Vacation Leave may be accumulated without a <br />(OLD maximum until January 31 of each year. On that <br />5.6 date, any accumulated Vacation Leave in excess of <br />REVISED) 240 hours is cancelled. The maximum amount of <br />Vacation Leave that can be carried forward to <br />February 1 is 240 hours. <br />5.5 Approving Vacation Leave <br />5.5.1 Vacation Leave may be taken only with the <br />(OLD 5.7 approval of the employee's supervisor.
