4 <br />ATTACHMENT 1 <br />DRAFT REVISED ARTICLE IV, SECTION 5.0 "VACATION LEAVE" <br />5.0 VACATION LEAVE* <br />5.1 General <br />The County provides Vacation Leave with pay for <br />Permanent employees, both Full Time and Part Time <br />(OLD (regularly, scheduled at least 20 hours each <br />5.0 workweek). This includes an employee appointed to <br />REVISED a permanent position serving a probationary <br />& NEW) period. Temporary employees do not earn Vacation <br />Leave. <br />5.2 Using Vacation Leave <br />Vacation Leave may be used for: <br />(NEW) - Vacation or other personal reasons; <br />(OLD - Sick Leave with the approval of the <br />5.4 supervisor; <br />REVISED) <br />- Absences due to adverse weather conditions <br />(OLD 5.5 if the County Manager does not authorize <br />REVISED) the use of Administrative Leave; <br />to Funeral Leave for relatives not covered by the <br />Funeral Leave provision of the Personnel <br />ordinance; <br />(NEW) - Religious observance. <br />5.3 Earning Vacation Leave <br />5.3.1 Each Permanent employee earns Vacation <br />(OLD 5.0 Leave based on the regular work schedule <br />REVISED) and the total years of Orange County <br />service as a Permanent employee. <br />(OLD 5.0 5.3.2 The earning rate for a Permanent Full Time <br />REVISED) employee regularly scheduled to work 40 <br />hours each workweek is as follows: <br />*Effective 10 -01 -91 <br />
