10 <br />I <br />,joint Planning Area Public Hearing with the Towns <br />r of Chapel'Hill and Carrboro in October 1991. <br />Eidenier stated that she would like to add an <br />item #3 for the Board of Commissioners to <br />work with the Town of Hillsborough in order to <br />put into effect some of the plan as it applies to <br />the eastern area of the County between <br />Hillsborough and Durham. Eidenier continued <br />that Commissioner Willhoit had states at <br />the public hearing that finding a way to <br />extend this corridor north of Duke Forest is a <br />goal he would like to see accomplished. <br />Discussion followed about the conditions <br />affecting the crossing of I -85 & US 70 and about <br />the width of a corridor to be useful as a buffer <br />as well as a bicycle /wildlife trail. <br />MOTION: Eidenier moved to add item =3 as'follows: <br />Direct the Planning'Staff to provide information <br />to the Rural Character Study Committee, the <br />Planning Board /EDC Work Group, the Planning <br />Board, and the Commissioners and Town <br />Commissioners working on the Hillsborough CPZ <br />about the land in private ownership, utilizY <br />easements, railroad right -of -way, and Duke Forest <br />in the vicinity of University Station Road, Old <br />NC 10, Mt.
