FLAT RIVER WATERSFIED <br />I. GENERAL DESCRIPTION <br />a) Location and Character <br />The Flat River Watershed is a part of the Neuse River Basin and is located in the <br />northernmost portion of Little River Township, adjacent to the Durham County and <br />Person County lines. It is a rural area characterized by low- density residential <br />development and farmland. <br />b) Reservoir /Intake Sites <br />The Flat River drains into Lake Michie in northern Durham County. Lake Michie <br />supplies the City of Durham with 20 MGD of water. <br />c) Affected Jurisdictions <br />Most of the watershed is in Person County. About 20% is contained is in Durham <br />County. Only a small amount is contained in Orange County. None of the critical area <br />is in Orange County. <br />1$ <br />
