INJURY PREVENTION PROGRAM <br />GRANT PROJECT ORDINANCE <br />Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners that pursuant to <br />Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North <br />Carolina, the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br />section 1. The project authorized is for an Injury <br />Prevention program as awarded to the Orange <br />County Health Department by the North Carolina <br />Department of Environment, Health and Natural <br />Resources. This project includes funding for a <br />program designed to reduce the number of children <br />seriously injured or killed in automobile <br />accidents by distributing toddler car safety <br />seats ( "Buckle Up Baby ") as well as funding for a <br />program designed to reduce the number of children <br />seriously injured or killed in accidental <br />poisonings by distributing poison prevention <br />kits ( "Project Poison Patrol "). <br />Section 2. The officers of the County are hereby directed to <br />proceed with the grant project within the grant <br />document, the rules and regulations of the North <br />Carolina Department of Environment, Health and <br />Natural Resources and the budget contained <br />herein. <br />section 3. The following revenues are anticipated to be <br />available to complete this project: <br />Intergovernmental -- <br />Buckle Up Baby $ 5,117 <br />Intergovernmental - <br />Project Poison Patrol 3,861 <br />$ 8,978 <br />Section 4. The following amounts are appropriated for this <br />project: <br />Human Services - Buckle Up Baby $ 5,117 <br />Human Services - Project Poison <br />Patrol 3,861 <br />8,979 <br />3 <br />
