BACKGROUND: (1) The Orange County Health Department has received additional funding for a nutrition program. The Board of Commissioners approved the contract amendment on June 25, 1991. No additional County funds are required for this $1,820 grant. (2) The Orange County Department on Aging has received an ACTION grant which will be used for initiation of a new family literacy program. The Board of Commissioners approved this grant on June 25, 1991. No additional County funds are required for this $7,500 grant. 1 (3) On June 25, 1991, the Board of Commissioners approved two injury prevention grants awarded to the Orange County Health Department by the State. The attached Injury Prevention Grant Project Ordinance will authorize the expenditure of the grant funds for the purpose indicated. (4) The Orange County Health Department has received notification of a $1,007 reduction in the AIDS Education grant. The attached AIDS Education Grant Project Ordinance includes the reduction and authorizes the expenditure of the reduced funds for the purpose indicated. RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board of Commissioners adopt the proposed budget ordinance amendment, Injury Prevention Grant Project Ordinance and the AIDS Education Grant Project Ordinance.
