Passmore, Ext. 2000 <br />Continuation of Contract for TELEPHONE NUMBER - <br />FY 92 Aging Services Hillsborough - 732 -8181 <br />Chapel Hill - 968 -4501 <br />Mebane - 227 -2031 <br />Durham - 688 -7331 <br />----------------------------------- <br />PURPOSE: <br />To consider Approval of Title III -2 & D Older Americans Act (Social Services /Senior <br />Center operations) contract continuation with the Triangle J Council of Governments <br />effective July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 for federal /state funds. County matching <br />funds would not increase over previous yearE. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />This is a yearly continuation contract covering the following services which are a part <br />of the Department on Aging's current budget: This also includes a small amount of <br />special emphasis funds for respite care and legal assistance required by the revised <br />Older Americans Act. The Department on Aging would continue emphasis ACCESS SERVICES <br />in order to facilitate service delivery by a multitude of community organizations. <br />Respite Care manpower and Legal assistance would be subcontracted to other agencies. <br />The Department on Aging services were ranked as high priority according to Council of <br />Governments and local needs assessments. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br />Manager recommends approval and Chair to sign contract continuation. <br />1 <br />
