HIGH SCHOOL SPACE NEEDS <br />STUDY COMMITTEE <br />Proposal #2: The orange County Board of County Commissioners will <br />appoint a committee composed of elected officials from each school <br />stem <br />board, and the Board nd °cit County at Commissioners, large to study education andsymake <br />staff, parents, <br />recommendations in the following areas: <br />1. options available to meet the need in Orange County for <br />additional high school space <br />2. when additional high school space will be needed and <br />number of students served <br />3. the cost associated with options identified for new space <br />and the advantages and disadvantages of each <br />4. optional governance structures and the legal basis of <br />each under current state law <br />The School Bond Committee may be instructed as part of their charge <br />to consider capital funding for only one high school regardless of <br />the options considered by the High School Study Committee. This <br />would eliminate the need for two high school committees and the <br />urgency of deciding the joint use issue early in the bond <br />committee's work. This High School Study Committee can complete <br />its work in the Spring of 1992 with recommendations to the elected <br />Boards. <br />
