ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br />306F REVERE ROAD <br />HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br />�•• jJ � u <br />D <br />�p <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br />ON <br />PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE WATER AND SEWER POLICY, <br />ZONING ORDINANCE, AND SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS <br />FOR ORANGE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Pursuant to the requirements of the General Statutes of <br />North Carolina, Chapter 153A, Article 18, Sections 323 and <br />343; Article 20, Sections 20.5 and 20.6 of the Orange County <br />Zoning Ordinance; and Section VII of the Orange County <br />Subdivision Regulations, notice is hereby given that a public <br />hearing will be held in the Old County Courthouse, King <br />Street, Hillsborough, North Carolina, on Monday, August 5, <br />1991, at 7:30 p.m. for the purpose of giving all interested <br />citizens an opportunity to speak for or against the following <br />items: <br />WATER AND SEWER POLICY TEXT AMENDMENT <br />1. Pre - existing Service Agreements <br />The proposed amendment would add language to Goal 3.B.3 of <br />the Water and Sewer Policy (Service Capability /Capacity/ <br />Extension Policies) to allow valid written water and /or <br />sewer service agreements which were valid prior to April <br />3, 1989, and in which a municipality (including Orange <br />County) or a water /sewer authority is a party and is the <br />water /sewer provider to be carried out in the Rural Buffer <br />and Water Quality Critical Areas. Water and sewer service <br />provided by such agreements could be extended only for <br />uses and densities allowed by the Orange County Zoning <br />Ordinance. <br />ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENT <br />1. Article 6.15.2 -- Interim Development Standards <br />The purpose of the proposed amendment is to make the <br />Zoning Ordinance consistent with the Water and Sewer <br />Policy as it is proposed to be amended above. Pre -- existing <br />valid water /sewer service agreements would be added to the <br />list of exceptions under which public water /sewer may be <br />extended in the University Lake Watershed. <br />SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS TEXT AMENDMENT <br />
