F <br />2 <br />L <br />Agreement among the University of North Carolina, the County of <br />Orange, Town of Carrboro and Town of Chapel Hill regarding the <br />Independence Day Celebration at Kenan Stadium on July 4, 1991 <br />This agreement is entered into by and among the University of North <br />Carolina at Chapel Hill (hereinafter the University), the County <br />of Orange (the County), the Town of Chapel Hill and the Town of <br />Carrboro (the Towns). <br />1. Purpose of agreement <br />The parties hereto desire to <br />fireworks displays and related <br />evening of July 4, 1991 (rain <br />2. Facilities <br />set forth arrangements for public <br />activities at Kenan Stadium on the <br />date: July 5, 1991). <br />The University will allow use of Kenan Stadium for public <br />attendance and a stationary fireworks display in Kenan Stadium, <br />with mortar fireworks to be set off at a location within the <br />Ramshead Parking Lot in accord with fire safety laws and <br />regulations. There shall be no admission charges. <br />The University will allow public parking at no charge in designated <br />areas of the Bell Tower parking lot. Other parking lots on the <br />South Campus (Smith Center, Jackson Circle) will also be available. <br />The University will operate the concessions and retain the revenue <br />therefrom. In accord with University policy, food and drink <br />containers are prohibited. <br />3. Fireworks displays: contract with pyrotechnic company <br />The Towns of Carrboro and Chapel Hill and Orange County will <br />jointly hire a licensed pyrotechnic company and will require the <br />company to indemnify and to name as additional named insured <br />parties the University, the County and the Towns as part of the <br />company's general liability coverage for the event. <br />Each local government will pay one -third of the fireworks cost, <br />with a maximum share of $3,000. <br />4. Security/ crowd control/ traffic control/ parking <br />Representatives of the University, Towns of Chapel Hill and <br />Carrboro and Orange County will develop operation plans with the <br />University assuming lead responsibilities. The plans will include: <br />temporary closing of Ridge Road between Manning Drive and <br />Stadium Drive. <br />establishing a police line to keep the public out of the <br />
